I think the test of a "plan of the box" kind of vacation, and I would spend a week or two in the United Kingdom, I input from people who wanted to live there. 'S nice small towns, BB &, beautiful scenery, nightlife, beautiful beaches and a little history ... Where do I find all or part of it, and have fun?

The other two answers are excellent suggestions! Cumbria is fantastic! In the United Kingdom, at sea, not more than 100 miles, as we have said indented coastline.
If I were you, I aspire to a certain region of the United Kingdom and the things in a region. Although the United Kingdom which is not much that can still be annoying if you spend half your vacation on the highway!
The West Country (the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset) is fantastic, spectacular and large villages and small towns, and one or two cities. However, this is not exactly the way! It is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the United Kingdom and the summer traffic in the region can be an absolute nightmare!
If you are in London, there are some good leaks in the countryside of Kent, south London. Kent is one of the oldest counties in the United Kingdom and is known as "Garden of England for its hills, orchards, vineyards, hops and variety of spectacular landscapes. Steeped in history, there are many places you can see some of the major attractions to visit. THeBBC has a fantastic tour here:

Chartwell is a National Heritage House was Winston Churchill and the house is worth seeing once. Nearby are the houses and castles of Knowle House, Penshurst Place, Hever Castle (castle of Henry VIII), and the village of Chiddingstone National Science Foundation (where I grew up really!)
Ightham moat is lost, a medieval manor house near Sevenoaks (6, from their famous oak trees in the storms of 1987)
Dover is just 30 miles from France and as such has increased over the years. Dover Castle is one of the best surviving examples from this year shortly after the Norman invasion of 1066th

Rye and Romney Marsh is a "beautiful" Defining levels suffered medieval port of salt marshes, that in Kent.

Canterbury Cathedral has attracted pilgrims for centuries and continue to attract large crowds.
Chatham Arsenal was one of the most advanced countries in which Royal arsenals were built many famous ships of the line, including Nelson's HMS Victory, the flagship in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 (still a warship Naval Command). Now as a sea power remains closed as a museum.

For the Coastal Water Bewl Water and beech are branches of large reservoirs, which offer sailing and fishing.
Kent also holds the record for highest temperature recorded in the UK, and although I make no guarantees about the British weather, its usually a good summer in Kent!
